Adult Social Care Charges & Contributions Consultation

Closing Date (17-09-2010)

Warwickshire county council is reviewing the charges that customers, most of whom will be disabled people, paid towards the costs of their adult social care services.

It is inevitable that all Disabled People who use social services will be affected in some way by these proposals. it is very important that you give your views and concerns on these proposals.

The proposed savings are huge and increases of up to 10 times the amount people are paying are planned. The council says that the poorest people will be protected but however anyone looks at it the most venerable and disadvantaged group in the county, i.e., Disabled People, are likely to be affected negatively by these proposed cuts.

This announcement is likely to be the first throughout the country while local authorities grapple with the financial savings they must make announced by the coalition movement recently.

The consultation consists of a podcast, an online survey and open meetings at venues across the whole county.

CDP Strongly urges all disabled people to contribute to this consultation and make their views clearly and firmly known on how these proposed cuts will have a huge and negative impact on their day to day lives.

These proposed changes will affect residents living in all of the following councils that make up Warwickshire county council.
