Now in answering this important question you have to think in terms of skills that may help you in the workplace. For instance if your good at maths you may be suited to problem solving and data input.

It is also important to realise that even if you don't have the necessary qualifications to do some types of work you may be able to train for them even while you work.

It may be that you have already been in work many years and it is a case of using these strengths to find a new direction in your career? This means looking again at what other qualities you have to offer to an employer.

A really good indicator of whether or not you are good at certain things is to look back at your academic achievements. Starting from school:

• What subjects were you good at?
• What subjects did you enjoy?
• What subject did you not enjoy and why?

Most professions in the fast paced world of work today require staff to keep training and continuously update their skills so you always get a chance to keep learning.
